About Epsilite

Epsilite is a free, student-built academic resource platform created for students at NHSAST — the National Higher School of Autonomous Systems Technology (French: École Nationale Supérieure de Technologie des Systèmes Autonomes, abbreviated ENSTSA), located at the Scientific and Technological Excellence Hub in Sidi Abdellah, Algiers, Algeria.

What is NHSAST?

NHSAST (National Higher School of Autonomous Systems Technology) is a Algerian engineering school established in 2023. It offers a five-year engineering program consisting of a two-year preparatory cycle (common trunk in science and technology) followed by a three-year specialization in fields such as Embedded Systems, Robotics, and Autonomous Navigation. Graduates receive a State Engineering degree. Admission is highly competitive and based on Baccalaureate results, typically requiring very high grades in mathematics and physics.

What Does Epsilite Offer?

Epsilite provides academic resources for 1st and 2nd year engineering students in the NHSAST preparatory cycle, organized across four semesters:

Semester 1

  • Analysis 1 — Limits, continuity, differentiability, integration
  • Algebra 1 — Logic, sets, relations, functions, complex numbers
  • Physics 1 — Mechanics, kinematics, dynamics
  • Chemistry 1 — Atomic structure, chemical bonding, thermochemistry
  • Computer Science 1 — Introduction to algorithms and programming

Semester 2

  • Analysis 2 — Series, sequences, power series, Fourier series
  • Algebra 2 — Linear algebra, vector spaces, matrix theory
  • Physics 2 — Electrostatics, magnetostatics
  • Thermodynamics — Laws of thermodynamics, heat engines, entropy
  • Probability and Statistics — Probability distributions, statistical inference
  • Computer Science 2 — Data structures and algorithms

Semester 3

  • Analysis 3 — Multivariable calculus, differential equations
  • Algebra 3 — Advanced linear algebra, bilinear forms
  • Electricity — Circuit analysis, AC/DC circuits
  • Fluid Mechanics — Fluid statics, dynamics, Navier-Stokes
  • Numerical Analysis — Numerical methods, interpolation, integration
  • Algorithms and Data Structures — Graph theory, sorting, complexity

Semester 4

  • Analysis 4 — Complex analysis, integral transforms
  • Object-Oriented Programming — Classes, inheritance, polymorphism, design patterns
  • Digital Systems — Logic gates, combinational and sequential circuits
  • Mechanics — Solid mechanics, vibrations, material strength

Resource Types

  • Exercises (PDF) — Problem sets with fully worked solutions for each module
  • Summaries — Condensed study guides for efficient exam preparation
  • Past Exams — Previous examination papers with corrections to help students practice under real conditions

Live Tutoring Sessions

In addition to these resources, the Epsilite scientific club at NHSAST organizes weekly live tutoring sessions where volunteer student teachers guide their peers through difficult concepts in Analysis, Algebra, Thermodynamics, Probability, Computer Science, and Physics. The session schedule is available on the platform.

The Team

Epsilite was created and is managed by Mohamed Bennamane, a student at NHSAST who also serves as a volunteer Analysis 2 teacher. The platform is built and maintained entirely by volunteer students at NHSAST. The team includes volunteer teachers for each academic module, platform managers, and contributors from the broader NHSAST student community. The platform is part of the Epsilite scientific club, one of the student organizations active at NHSAST alongside the IEEE Student Branch and other scientific and cultural clubs.

Technical Platform

The Epsilite website is a web application built with Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS. It has a dark-themed interface with 3D and animated elements and a responsive layout that works on phones and desktops. The backend uses Supabase (PostgreSQL) with Row Level Security for data protection. The platform is hosted on Vercel and is open source.
